Dad called again and let us know how the night went at the motel. After Mom told him to order pizza since no other restaurants were open, the manager said “yes, they deliver here.” We were worried he wouldn’t stay awake long enough for the delivery. He called and placed an order then was informed they don’t, in fact, deliver that late at night. “TIRED AS A MOTHER…..” he checked with the manager again and was told the closest place is Sonic. He walked a good ways for food to Sonic and back to the motel to sleep.
The following morning he was on the road again. He reported his leaning was not so bad anymore; and he was moving right along. Mom said he sounded good, just tired. He as able to get more food along the way as well. So happy to hear that news. Through 120 hours, or 5 days – halfway through the 10 day limit, Westbrook reached The Nutt House with 187 miles. He remains in 57th overall. The total number of those who have quit has reached 26.
